Chapter 1

Year 2008
Northland, New Zealand

Under the scorching heat of summer, a chubby fourteen years old youth had gone into the forest with his clubmates which consisted of five people. 

This chubby youth’s name is Zet Abacuck and he was the leader of the group.

They were investigating a rumor that spread in the web where people have sometimes been hearing grating sounds in the nearby forest, but when the sound was traced to what is supposed to be the source those people could not find anything unnatural in the surrounding. 

This causes people to remember that the forest was an ancient forest that have been around for years and suspected that there were vengeful ghosts who were roused from their slumber. This have happened several times thus people start to stay away from the forest.

This rumor have been flying around the web for more than three months thus as the Unidentified Phenomena Club or shortened as UPC, they went into the forest to investigate the rumor.

As they went deeper into the forest, the surroundings gradually turned darker as if it was night time and they were feeling colder as they went further in.

As the club leader of the UPC, Zet encourages his fellow members to be on the lookout for any unusual activity in the surroundings.

Upon entering the deepest part of the forest, they were not able to find anything other than wild animals and birds thus they decided to return back to the forest entrance.

When the other members were walking back ahead of Zet, He was distracted by a dim glow glowing between the leaves.

Zet swept away the leaves and discovered a dimly glowing white crystal ball the size of a thumb on the ground.

“What a weird looking ball. Is it made of phosphorescent plastic?”

“By chance did somebody accidentally dropped it here?”

After taking a look at ball, he slipped the ball into his pant pocket and proceeded to join the other members.

After taking roll call, Zet returned home and prepared some dinner. As his parents are always busy travelling and being the only child, he was used to preparing his own meals.

After finishing dinner and cleaning up the dishes, He then proceeded to watch anime since he love it especially the fantasy-based ones.

“I wished that an another world really exist”

As he was having this thought, the crystal ball in his pants started to dimly light up without him knowing. 

After enjoying the anime, he took a shower and changed into a set of pajama. He then went to bed.

“Bzzz” ”bzzz”

He was hearing insects buzzing loudly from his surroundings.

“Urgh. Too noisy”

Zet thought that the noise was too loud just because it’s summer thus he became annoyed.

While he was moving around in his sleep, he felt that his bed was feeling too soft and slightly damp.

Feeling something went wrong he gradually opened his eyes. 

What greeted him is a view of the sky and tree canopy. The sky was red as if blood was spilled all over it with black clouds occasionally passing through. 

“This is”

'This doesn’t look near my place or anywhere that I know'

When this thought passed through his mind, a smile gradually emerged on his face.
